Marine plastic pollution presents a classic tragedy of the commons. If countries act myopically then they internalise pollution that affects their own waters, but not that which impacts other countries' waters. But if countries act cooperatively, then they can collectively internalise all pollution. The aim of this project is to compare the Nash and cooperative outcomes, and thereby quantify the benefits of international cooperation.
